    Barclays raises record amount during third annual Commissions for Cancer event

    Colleagues across Global Markets recently raised USD$536k during the third annual Commissions for Cancer event. This year marked an expansion with colleagues from US Equities joining those from Rates, FX, and Futures, resulting in a remarkable 34% donation increase compared to the previous year.  

    Throughout the five-day event, clients continued algorithmic trading, with a portion of net commissions donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to help further the important work of the cancer research organisation. Barclays started Commissions for Cancer three years ago and has since raised over $1mn for LLS. 

    About Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

    LLS is the largest nonprofit dedicated to curing blood cancer. The organisation has invested nearly $1.3bn into groundbreaking research, much of it focused on pediatric treatments. 

    Barclays has supported LLS since 2009, raising over $8.5mn for the nonprofit's cancer research initiatives. As one of the nonprofit's top U.S. partners, Barclays was also the first to raise more than $1mn for the LLS Light the Night Walk.
