Barclays has been named ‘Credit derivatives house of the year’ at their annual awards.
In the award write-up, Risk recognized the business’ ability to deliver on its strategy and support clients to manage their risk as they navigated the market volatility during 2022.
The events in Russia and Ukraine were inevitably a key focus for our clients throughout the year and as a trusted partner, Barclays was able to work closely with them to manage their risk exposure. The strength of the client relationships we’ve developed across the investor base has really helped us to facilitate the transition of risk that our clients required. The collaboration this needed from across sales, trading and Research, in partnership with the teams across BX is a true demonstration of our Power of One approach.Finbar Cooke, Co-Head of European Credit Trading

As market volatility increased, many clients moved to index products to help better hedge their macro exposure. The multi-year investment Barclays has made in the Credit business enabled the team to swiftly channel their efforts to support clients. And establishing the Cross-Credit sales team in 2021 has played a pivotal role in enabling the team to collaborate more closely with sales teams across Equities and Macro to deliver new opportunities for clients in the credit derivatives market.
Our colleagues have played a major role in driving the growth we’ve seen in this business. Our talent has been strengthened by investments we’ve made in parallel with a focus on Macro from the research side, the set-up of the Cross-Credit Sales team and our investment in technology.Yoni Gorelov, Co-Head of US Credit Trading

We are honoured to be named Credit Derivatives House of the Year for the second time. The long-term effort and investment we have made to build market-leading sales, trading and research teams has enabled us to outperform through periods of heightened volatility and support clients as they navigate what has been incredibly challenging market conditions.Drew Mogavero, Global Head of Credit Products
